Employing firm has equity strategies with $70 Billion in AUM and well established established distribution. Firm is looking to add a international small cap growth product/team. Prefers a PM or team that has positive institutional consultant coverage, portable track record and/or portable AUM. Will consider acquiring a International mall Cap Growth firm/boutique or a friendly negotiated carve-out with current employer. Ideal location in NY City.
Fundamental Division of one of the most powerful distributors in the globe with $90 Billion in Fundamental Equities Div (of $1.3 Trillion in AUM) is seeking to carve-out, or acquire a top performing International Small/SMID (market caps between $1-$15 Billion) to join the firm and further grow these International strategies. Ideal team uses a high conviction Fundamental driven process, favorable upside/downside ratios, portfolio annual turnover ratio under 75% per year, with 40 to 100 names, performing mostly in top 2 quartiles of performance over 1, 3 and 5 years. Excellent opportunity for growth and high impact. Of the $90 Billion in AUM, $4.5 Billion is already in International Large. Applicable benchmarks = EAFE SMID Core, Value or Growth
It all starts with a conversation to start learning what your objectives and goals are. By conversing, we can both learn if we are the right recruiting partner. If so, we may proceed to;
1. Alignment meeting to garner all the important information to attract the desired candidate(s).
2. Write and obtain approval of the position specifications with the desired qualifying metrics/characteristics such as turnover ratios, upside/downside capture ratios, investment process, etc.
3. Research and launching of search. Populate a custom live shared list of prospective candidates while engaging the candidate to learn about their aspirations and feasibility.
4. Engage prospects respectfully. Share compelling nature of opportunity and listen & learn if the candidate is a likely fit and interested. If so, escalate candidacy to next level.
5. Coach/advise candidates on their particulars and client firm.
6. Introduced well suited candidates (as they are recruited or all together at end of research phase). We are empathetic and respectful to candidates by communicating timetable, status reports, where they stand and next steps, at all times.
7. Advise on compensation package and help mediate/negotiate when differences exists or called upon. Advise on resignation and on-boarding.
8. Always do the right thing with upmost integrity for both the firm and the candidate understanding this is a critical decision for both sides.
